Join Date Jul 2013Posts 3Rep Power 0 Hey guys,
I'm planning to buy the Acer V5-552G-8632 next week.
I wanted to upgrade the RAM once i got the Laptop, and was trying to figure out what kind of RAM to buy for the laptop and also If i need to replace the existing RAM with a new one?
It comes with 4GB RAM but as per the specifications on Newegg, it says the laptop has 4GB onboard memory, Memory Slot (Total) = 1, Memory Slot (Available) = 1 and Max Memory Supported = 12GB.
Is that mention of 1 memory slot being available a typo? In that case, Can I have have the 4GB RAM replaced with a 8GB/12GB card?
I want to do some light gaming on the laptop with games like League of Legends and Torchlight 2, so I'd like to buy a very good RAM card, Could you guys please recommend some options?
Thanks.

This means that you have 4 GB soldered to the motherboard and one SODIMM slot which you can use to upgrade to 4 GB + 2 GB, 4 GB + 4 GB or 4 GB + 8 GB.

See:
CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
But I'm pretty sure that any of these options will work too:
See:
Memory - Desktop & Notebook Memory at Memory Express
Good luck.
